Can your cervex lengthen after it effaces?

Effacing means that the cervix is shortening. And dilation means it's opening. It's not going to get longer after it begins shortening in anticipation of labor, but depending on how you're being measured (transl ultrasound or by manual dr. exam), the amount you're being told you have effaced could differ according to who's doing the measuring.
