A period after radiation therapy? ?

So, my mom had cervical cancer and got radiation therapy and chemotherapy and is supposed to not have periods after radiation therapy and she is done with radiation and chemotherapy. She still seems to get what appears to be a type of period which gives her severe cramps that cause a lot of pain and brownish red blood like a period.
