How do i get my 2 year old to sleep in his own bed in his own room?????

i need some tips on getting him to sleep in his own room and bed ever since he was born he has sleeped in my bed and his naps have just been on the couch every day he has a little mattres on my floor in the room and sometimes once he falls asleep in my bed i will put him in there but he always ends up back in my bed the only reason he has always slepped with me is because i have lived at my mums since he was born and we only had a tiny room to shear now i have my own place and he has his own room and i need some tips on how to get him to sleep in there? do you think its a bad idea to put a tv in there if he watches his fav dvds he will fall asleep?
